S300 – Spain 1929 – Pro Exposiciones de Sevilla y Barcelona – Complete Airmail Set
Complete six-stamp commemorative airmail set, Edifil 448–453, issued 15 February 1929 for the Seville and Barcelona exhibitions, illustrating the Spirit of St. Louis aircraft of Charles Lindbergh. Values: 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, 1 peseta, 4 pesetas.
Technical details: Recess printing (calcografía); Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre; comb perforation 11¼ (catalogue); blue control numbers on reverse of each stamp.
Condition: All six stamps have good original gum, confirmed by owner. 5c, 10c and 25c: Mint Hinged (MH); 50c and 4 pesetas: Very Lightly Hinged (VLH); 1 peseta: Mint Never Hinged (MNH), with poor centring. Condition is mixed; the global Condition filter uses MH as the base classification, while individual statuses are fully recorded here. No gum discoloration or damage discount is applied on the basis of the previous scan interpretation. Further physical examination is necessary to exclude any paper thinning.
Catalogue values: Historical Edifil references for the complete issue: EUR 120 MH and EUR 250 MNH. The individual condition-based sum (MH prices for MH/VLH, MNH price for 1p) is approximately EUR 173 before centring adjustments; it is not an official mixed-set catalogue quotation.
Market: Comparable complete MH sets have been offered at approximately EUR 40–79; MNH sets around EUR 98–125 (asking prices, not verified realised sales). The 1p MNH and VLH 50c/4p justify a premium to ordinary MH, limited by the poor centring of 1p.
AllCollect collection valuation: EUR 65.00 (indicative range EUR 55–75). Collection Grade: 4/5. Investment Grade: 2.5/5. Decision: KEEP.
