Collector’s Note: A particularly deep, bluish-violet example of SG180. Despite the pronounced colour difference from the other SG180 in the collection, the combination of Crown SA (Close) watermark and perf 12 × 11½ supports SG180. The deeper appearance should be recorded as an individual shade variation rather than treated as a separate SG-listed shade unless specialist evidence establishes otherwise. Useful alongside the lighter SG180 and perf-13 SG178 for comparison.
